Oven Cooked Ribs That Leave People Asking For More
There could be nothing better than some fresh oven cooked ribs on a cold wintry day. Oven cooked ribs taste far better than the grilled ones. This is due to the fact that to cook in the oven the ribs will have to be wrapped properly.
Once this is done, all the juices that oozes out during the cooking process remains within the foil. These juices are basically responsible for retaining the taste of the oven cooked ribs.
Choose a good rack of ribs that will be appropriate for the number of portions that needs to be served. Wash and clean them thoroughly and remove the sheath which might remain on the underside of the ribs. When the sheath is removed the seasoning and the sauces will soak better. Now add the seasoning as per one’s own taste requirements.
It is generally a mix of salt, pepper, spices, paprika, etc. Marinating the ribs is another alternative. One can prepare their own marinade as per their choice or better still just pick up some from the local grocery store or a supermarket. Italian dressings are a favorite among many. Marinating the meat helps tenderize the meat and retain the moisture after the cooking process is over.
After this is done, the meat has to be put in an aluminum foil – the heavy duty ones and then cover the ribs with the foil but do not make it airtight as the steam that is formed during the cooking process will have to escape. After wrapping the ribs place it in a rectangular oven-proof dish and place it in the oven.
Cut chunks of vegetables of one’s choice such as carrots, potatoes, broccoli etc., and place them around the ribs in the tray. Preheat the oven to about 325F and place this tray and bake for an hour or so. After the baking is done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before opening the foil. Let the steam escape and then leave the foil open and put back the ribs in the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes until the how to cook ribs get a golden brown hue. Serve with those chunks of veggies.
